Who we are
Windy & Wallflower Inc. is comprised of two individuals Tas Mukanik (Windy) and Winter J. Kiakas (Wallflower). A duo of queer creators residing in Montreal, Canada, creating works of fiction and small pieces of art.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it
“Personal Data” consists of anything you submit to us on our website, from comments/reviews, your information for purchase purposes and so on.
Addresses & Credit Cards
When you make a purchase on our shop, your credit card information is handled by Square or Stripe and therefore we do not have access to that type of personal information. Both Square and Stripe are companies we have used before and trust wholeheartedly. If you would like to read more on their privacy policies you can do so below:

In terms of your personal address information, this information will only ever be used for its intended purpose (to ship the items you ordered to you), and for tax-purposes with the Government of Canada. We will not sell or redistribute your information in any other way without explicit and expressed permission by you.
Contact forms
When you send us a message through our contact forms, the email provided and the information within the message are considered private information which are only read by the administrators of the shop. Your email will only be used as a means of us communicating with you to resolve any issue that has been brought to our attention. This information will not be shared with anyone.
Comments
When you leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Reviews
We use a third party service plugin (Customer Reviews) to send emails to remind and allow customers to review product(s) they have purchased. This service is consented to by the customer at checkout. You can read Customer Review’s privacy policy here: https://www.cusrev.com/privacy-policy
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Analytics
At the moment we are not using detailed analytics on our shop but if this does change we will update this page with the new information.
How long we retain your data
Credit Cards: we do not keep this information, it is processed through Square or Stripe, you can read more on their privacy policies in the links above.
Addresses: addresses provided to us are kept for 6 month to 1 year in order for us to process any replacement orders, and enable us to file taxes with the Government of Canada.
Comments: the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information, except for usernames.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
